About this resource
MATLAB Agentic Toolkit installs a MATLAB MCP server and selected Skill groups so supported coding agents can run MATLAB code, analyse data, test programs, and use domain-specific toolbox workflows.
This page groups representative academic components by task; review the repository for the complete inventory.
Run and test MATLAB code
Connects the agent to MATLAB for code execution, program runs, tests, static analysis, and environment detection.
- Typical inputs
- MATLAB code or project; Test files and expected behaviour
- Output
- Command-window output, structured test results, code-analysis findings, or environment information.
Best for: Research software projects that need an agent to inspect and run MATLAB code.

Suggested workflow requests (2)
What version of MATLAB is running? List the installed toolboxes.
Run the tests in this MATLAB test file and return the structured results.
From README.md.
Data analysis and scientific computing
Provides Skill groups for data import, analysis, statistics, optimisation, signal processing, images, and domain toolboxes.
- Typical inputs
- Research data, MATLAB project, analysis objective, and required toolbox
- Output
- MATLAB code, analysis results, processed data, models, or figures.
Best for: Using documented MATLAB workflows with the appropriate licensed toolboxes.
Components for this task
Domain-specific MATLAB workflows
Includes Skills for computational biology, engineering, imaging, optimisation, RF, robotics, and other MATLAB domains.
- Typical inputs
- Domain model, data, constraints, and installed toolbox
- Output
- A component-dependent simulation, analysis, code artifact, or technical result.
Best for: Researchers who already use MATLAB and can verify the selected domain workflow.
Components for this task
matlab-build-simbiology-model
Builds a SimBiology model for computational-biology work.
Use boundaries
Limits and checks
Licence and toolbox availability
A Skill may be visible but unable to run in the current installation.
Use the environment-detection tools and confirm product licences before selecting Skill groups.
Local code execution
Commands can change the project, consume compute, or produce files.
Use version control, review commands, and work in a bounded project directory.
Installer changes
Global or project agent configuration can change.
Review the installer scope, choose project-local configuration where appropriate, and verify after setup.
More boundaries
- Do not install Skill groups for MATLAB products or toolboxes that are not available in the intended environment.
- The toolkit cannot run MATLAB workflows without a compatible MATLAB installation and an active MCP connection.
- Agent-generated MATLAB code, models, tests, and results still require domain, numerical, and software review.
